As a new mama I was not sure of what to do. I was introduced to Aunty Malika Janakiraman who came to me like an angel and enrolled me into the Nutrition programme for Babies (first 1000 days). Honestly this program is so beautifully structured around what to provide the young babies. They teach about meal plans, what should be the nutritional intake for young minds. An absolute must for young mothers! It personally equipped me and made me a confident mother for my childs well-being.
Thank you for the wonderful and healthy food provided during the most required and important for us. It really helped us a lot to settle down post delivery. Really thankful and appreciate your effort in preparing all those healthy and tasty food provided.
Just had my baby a week ago, with no family in NZ (other than hubby), and being recent immigrants to NZ- limited community support as well. I came across a flyer for new mama meals and was overjoyed. We had plans to order in on most days and rely on a few friends and frozen food on others. This initiative has made our initial few days while we get used to our new life so much easier! A healthy homecooked meal for a postpartum breastfeeding mum trumps restaurant food any day! I contacted them via email for assistance with food and was promptly contacted by one of the team. They have been very kind, and arranging and coordinating everything has been easy. Today was my first meal with them, the food has been great and it feels really good to be looked after!
I was grateful to receive the food from new mama volunteer’s for the first week of my delivery. They are providing a wonderful service for the new mums. I came to know about Wahine new mama service through one of my friends. Happy to share this service to all the needy moms. Hats off to all the volunteers.
I feel really thankful for your organisation who helped me to manage so well after a baby… specially when my family wasn’t with me and it was so difficult to manage food. This is a very moral and virtuous initiative. I would feel honoured to be a part of it in the future. Thanks for everything!

The excellent effort this organization is putting in understanding the needs of women, specially of new mothers when the times are challenging is absolutely amazing. All the members of this association are great bunch of friendly people doing boundless service. We are aware of this group from a friend and the help we received when we needed the most is always appreciated and remembered. Mama meals has all variety of foods with proteins, rich in good fats, minerals and key nutrients, best thing is that it is all homemade by likewise mothers. Thank you Wahine!
